Sewing Thread Inspection

Factors should be considered for sewing thread inspection are:
A. Thread construction/ Ticket number.
Test for thread construction:
Ø Thread count
Ø Thread ply
Ø Number of twist.
Ø Thread balance
Ø Thread tenacity
Ø Thread elongation
B. Sewing ability: the ability of a thread to be sewn is called sewing ability. To determine the sewing ability of a thread, the running performance is counted. The ability of sewn in highest and fault free sewn in normal condition. Some requirement is necessary for good sewing;
Ø Imperfection: The yarn breakage is occurred frequently when the knot or slub is present in sewing thread; for this the efficiency of machine and production is less and the quality is so low.
Ø Finish: Finishing means using lubricant which helps to pass the needle eye through the guide. The amount of lubricant is 3% to 15%. The amount of lubricant should be same in all package of the lot.
Ø Color: the color of thread should be same in all parts of the sample as well as the whole lot otherwise it may cause reverse effect on the fabric.

Ø Package density:to maintain the proper tension the package density should be same in all package or cone .
Ø Winding:the winding of sewing thread should be uniform otherwise brakage may be high and it has the direct effect over the garments.
